Best Coast: Boyfriend
I wrote about this one at greater length over at the Playlist, but I like this song a lot. There’s better songs on this album, in my opinion, but the fact that she kicks off the record with a chugging, post-alt-rock grinder like this shows that she’s willing to expand her sound a bit (I know there are plenty who don’t agree with me on that point, but haters gonna hate).
Oh, and this record? Better than the Wavves record. Fuck what you heard otherwise.
